Art et al.

An international platform connecting artists from supported studios

In 2020, founding partners, Slominski Projects, and Jennifer Lauren Gallery, and Arts Project Australia identified a need for more inclusive programming and access in the contemporary arts for neurodivergent, intellectually, and learning disabled artists to be seen, heard, and participate.

As a result, they formed Art et al. – an international platform that mainly connects artists from supported studios with international peers, arts professionals, and audiences.

In August 2024 Arts Project Australia stepped back as a key member, and into a role as project partner.

To-date the initiative has operated through arts funding from Creative Australia (formerly Australia Council for the Arts), DFAT through their Australian Cultural Diplomacy Grants Program (ACDGP), British Council AU/UK Season 2021-22, British Council International Collaboration Grants and Connections Through Culture Grants, and the Aesop Foundation.

Art et al. and Arts Project Australia Peer/Peer Collaborations

The Peer/Peer Collaborations foster connections for new artwork to be created informed by new artistic relationships. Art et al. supports the coordination of regular communication and collaboration of an artist pair over a three month period.

Artists are encouraged to connect digitally, having regular conversations over Zoom or through shared video content, with the creative output taking any form, and in any medium or scale – made individually or collaboratively.
