Jamie Dawes is an emerging artist with an interest in repetition and pattern.
Themes in his work reflect his interests in bands from retro album covers and animal studies. He begins his artistic process by building up blocks of colour, frequently refining the work with the application of a delicate nib pen, resulting in sketchy, colourful and crowded compositions.
Dawes has worked at Arts Project Australia since 2011. He has exhibited in group exhibitions in Melbourne and his work is held in private collections in Australia.
