Who we are

Arts Project Australia is a creative social enterprise that supports artists with intellectual disabilities, promotes their work and advocates for their inclusion in contemporary art practice.

For 50 years, we have been recognised and celebrated for the quality of the work produced by the artists in our studio which is exhibited in our gallery and around the world and represented in multiple public and private collections.

What we do

Arts Project Australia empowers people to be professional artists while gaining skills and confidence amongst like-minded peers in a supportive environment. We do this by:

  • Encouraging individual artistic expression and style
  • Providing high-quality materials and a range of media
  • Promoting their work within the contemporary arts sector
  • Connecting our artists with other artists, studios and galleries

Artists are mentored by arts professionals who connect artists and their work with the Australian and international contemporary art world.

Artists develop folios of work in mediums including painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, photography, digital art, animation, stop-motion, public art, and zines.

Arts Project Australia brokers major paid opportunities for artists such as collaborations, curatorial projects, professional development, gallery representation, artwork leasing, image licensing, commissions, workshops, internships and residencies.
