Today in Professional Practice the Northcote Penguins had the privilege of being part of a full day workshop with Performance artist Tania Smith. Together we looked at the concept of Stillness, Motion and the Unexpected to investigate ideas through performance. For instance, how the language of gesture and body motion can have as much meaning as words and how the meaning behind this ‘movement language’ can change when viewed as a dynamic experience within a group, and how unexpected non-verbal poetry can be created in this way.
