Peter Ben (b 1972, Melbourne) is a painter and ceramicist drawing inspiration from a variety of narratives. Series of ceramic works are created with a deep carving technique and relief details produce intriguing results. Ben’s paintings reference a multitude of subject matter with a particular focus on music culture and often feature dappled, almost psychedelic, multi-coloured backgrounds. Ben presented his first solo exhibition in 2013 and has been represented in numerous group exhibitions. Public collections include the National Gallery of Australia. His work is also held in national and international private and corporate collections.
