Curated by Debbie Pryor and featuring Arts Project’s Terry Williams
Magic Mountain is a group exhibition featuring work by Kylie Banyard, Sarah CrowEST, Georgia Perry and Terry Williams.
Curated by Craft’s Debbie Pryor, Magic Mountain
explores the notion of spacial and interior design, domestic decoration and the psychology
behind creating personal or private space.
The work of Terry Williams will be featured, including his “Magic Mountain” response as well as new and recent soft sculptures that respond to the project concept.
A prolific worker, Terry Williams’ arts practice encompasses animation, ceramics, foam sculpture, texta drawing and watercolour. His detailed series of ceramic buildings and aeroplanes is a unique depiction of the modern industrial world. The intensely physical construction of his sculptures is juxtaposed with the more metaphysical concept of the factory-built ‘flying machine’. In contrast to the strong physicality of his 3-dimensional work, his works on paper show loose black and white line work with veils of watercolour washes.
