Josef Power

Josef Power works attentively in texta and paint, engaging directly with the surface through a confident use of colour and shape.

His images are gradually built up by each coloured mass until the entire surface is filled with harmonic patterns that often contain subtle forms explained through personal narrative. Josef Power (born 1990) has been attending the Arts Project Australia studio since 2008. He has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions including ‘Home’, locations around Arts Centre Melbourne, the city and the surrounds; ‘2014 Belle Arti Prize’, Chapman & Bailey Gallery, Melbourne; and ‘Melbourne Art Fair 2014’, Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne. He has also been in group shows in the Arts Project Australia gallery, as well as each Annual Gala since 2008.
