Warren O’Brien is a prolific painter whose abstract images echo the rhythm and repetition of his process. The layering of radiant colours creates the illusion of depth and texture in his work and his use of a repeated arc motif, seemingly based on forms found in arched windows, invites the viewer to explore the many complex layers within his works. O’Brien (born 1974) has been a regular studio artist at Arts Project Australia since 2005. He has been included in numerous group exhibitions including at Spring 1883, Melbourne Art Fair, Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne (2010, 2012 & 2014), Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts, Melbourne (2010), and Gallery 101, Ontario, Canada (2014). His work is held in private collections throughout Australia.
